Counselling and Art Therapy for Children and Youth

Laurie offers in-person counselling and art therapy sessions for children and youth ages 6 and up at Red Canoe Pediatrics in Nanaimo. Her art therapy sessions incorporate a variety of creative expressions, including clay work, painting, drawing, sewing, music, movement, poetry, and sandtray therapy. No prior art experience is needed—just a willingness to explore and express!

About

Laurie Larkin-Boyle

Laurie Larkin-Boyle, a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Art Therapist, is now providing private art therapy sessions for children aged 6 and up at Red Canoe Pediatrics in Nanaimo, BC. Laurie, is also a former School Counsellor, and a seasoned BC Certified Teacher, supports those experiencing grief/loss, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, and depression. Currently pursuing her PhD in Expressive Arts Therapy, Laurie employs a trauma-informed intermodal approach that integrates neurodevelopment and mind-body best practices. Laurie believes that by honouring our physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects, we can achieve balance and healing.

 

Laurie also offers expressive arts based online and in-person workshops for adults interested in self care, mental wellness. She has offered these personal and professional development workshops in Alberta, British Columbia and Yukon.

 

Originally from the Yukon, Laurie now resides in Nanaimo with her husband and two children. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, walking in nature, and creating art in her studio.
